Rehfuss invests in new location

At the end of June 2020, Rehfuss Drive Solutions GmbH moves into its new, spacious premises in the Lichtenbol industrial park in Albstadt. With a significant expansion of production, logistics, and administrative areas, the gear specialist is responding to years of sustained strong growth and setting the course for further expansion. The relocation also offers logistical advantages due to significantly improved transportation connections – and employees are pleased with a comfortable working environment that meets the highest modern standards.

The Albstadt-based specialist for drive components, founded in 1951 as Carl Rehfuss GmbH + Co. KG and renamed Rehfuss Drive Solutions GmbH in 2019, currently employs around 65 staff members and is run by the Pfister family in its fourth generation. The diversified product and service range extends from individual drives to comprehensive drive systems and user-specific solutions for nearly all industries, especially the food sector. With high-quality drive technology "Made in Germany," Rehfuss is among the top players in the market and generates its revenue worldwide.

Due to steadily increasing growth, however, the two plants had already reached their capacity limits in 2015, prompting considerations for expansion. The original plan to consolidate production at one of the existing locations and significantly expand it was ultimately abandoned in favor of a more suitable site in the industrial area.

With the investment in the new building complex, managing directors Michael and Tobias Pfister feel well prepared for the future. The facility offers 6,500 square meters, almost 50 percent more space for administration, manufacturing, development, and logistics compared to the previous plan. This provides Rehfuss with optimal conditions for all work areas starting in summer, including state-of-the-art, ergonomic workplaces. "When designing the space, it was particularly important to us to create a pleasant working environment for our long-standing employees, as they are the key to our success," explains Michael Pfister. Additionally, suppliers and especially customers benefit from more efficient processes and, thanks to the central location of the plant in the industrial park, also from significantly improved transportation connections.

The company's goals are clearly defined: "As a technology leader in our industry, we must always think ahead to tomorrow. The substantial expansion of capacities now allows us to consistently advance the growth of our portfolio and market position. Rehfuss gear motors are used worldwide in industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and medical technology, but it is essential to continue to exploit existing potential as much as possible in the future."
