Vink Chemicals has achieved another regulatory milestone and has received EU-wide approval for grotanol® 3025 as a biocidal product under the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) as a disinfectant of product type PT 2 for CIP and industrial surfaces.

The approval now granted covers the use of grotanol® 3025 for wiping and mopping, spray applications (e.g., in tanks), dipping, and the CIP (Cleaning-in-Place) process – each under clean and dirty conditions. According to the BPR Regulation (EU) 528/2012, product type PT 2 includes disinfectants that are not intended for direct application to humans and animals.

Versatile application in recirculation systems and production facilities

With EU approval as a PT 2 disinfectant, users benefit from the versatile possibilities that grotanol® 3025 offers. The product is a mixture of CMIT/MIT (3:1) (CAS No. 55965-84-9) and glutaraldehyde (CAS No. 110-30-8), characterized by broad efficacy against bacteria, yeasts, and molds. The agent produces very low foam, acts quickly, and can be easily and residue-free rinsed off.
