BioTrak™ Measurement System

The BioTrak™ measurement system stands for the real-time detection of airborne germs. It continuously analyzes the cleanroom air of aseptic processes and immediately alerts in case of microbial contamination.

The basis for immediate alarm is the continuous microbial count along with a graphical display of all measurement results in 6 size channels. As an important supporting parameter, conventional particles between 0.5 and 25 micrometers are also counted in the six size channels.

While particles are detected via conventional light scattering, microbial detection is based on laser-induced, intrinsic fluorescence. As a second-generation autofluorescence microbial marker, BioTrak™ considers inelastic scattering information at multiple wavelengths and can significantly reduce potential microbiological false positives.

The high sampling flow rate of 1 cfm (28.3 liters/minute) suppresses the sedimentation of larger particles and allows sampling comparable to conventional particle counters. Microbiological immediate results can be verified afterward. For this purpose, the sample flow is passed through a gelatin filter.
