The RMS device family from Instant BioScan stands for real-time detection of microbial contamination. The range of applications extends from measuring individual water samples to continuous analysis in pure water systems. Monitoring in hot sample water in WFI quality is carried out through the special ON 90 device configuration.

RMS counts of microbiological contamination in pure water (Biocounts) are based on the already established detection method for fluorescence-based air microbial counts. The detection and analysis of biological autofluorescence have been successfully used for several years in GMP-compliant, aseptic manufacturing. However, the optical systems of the new water analyzers are designed to meet the specific requirements of the sample matrix 'pure water.' This particularly concerns their pressure and temperature resistance.

In addition to monitoring Biocounts, the system also detects conventional elastic Mie light scattering. As a "side effect," the RMS analyzers also display the non-biological particle count rate. Current data interfaces (Modbus via Ethernet) or 4-20 mA current loops allow integration into overarching monitoring concepts.
