Raumedic invests at the headquarters in Germany

The Raumedic in Ottengrüner Haide: In addition to the existing building, a second facility with an office building will be constructed.

The Raumedic AG, a company of the Rehau Group, will expand its headquarters in Helmbrechts, Upper Franconia. The polymer specialist for medical technology and the pharmaceutical industry is investing 26 million euros in a new building with cleanroom production areas, manufacturing facilities, laboratories, and office spaces. The completion of the plant is scheduled for late 2014.

Since its spin-off from Rehau AG + Co in 2004, the company has recorded high annual growth rates. Revenue and employee numbers have more than doubled since then. "New orders from renowned medical technology and pharmaceutical companies, as well as the implementation of new technologies, require this step to ensure our growth plans," says Martin Bayer, CEO of Raumedic AG.

The new building, which will be constructed directly next to the company's headquarters in the A9 industrial park, is expected to create more than 100 new office and laboratory jobs, as well as over 90 manufacturing positions. For the company, this is a clear commitment to the Upper Franconia location. "We thank the Prime Minister Horst Seehofer and the Minister of Economics Martin Zeil for their personal support, which has helped realize this unique project for the region within the framework of Bavarian regional funding. Above all, the mayors of the neighboring towns of Münchberg and Helmbrechts, Thomas Fein and Stefan Pöhlmann, have supported us as actively as we have experienced since our settlement in 2004/05. I would also like to highlight the commitment of the state parliament member Alexander König and the district administrator Bernd Hering, as well as the government of Upper Franconia," says Martin Bayer.
