On February 1st and 2nd, 2017, RAUMEDIC will present its latest technologies for the pharmaceutical industry at booth J35 at Pharmapack in Paris. The new developments focus on the polymer specialist’s attention on drug application systems, inhalation, and injection systems.

Drug Application

RAUMEDIC develops customized drug application systems that offer better handling, precise dosing, safer application, and improved patient compliance. In this way, RAUMEDIC responds to the growing demand for dosing devices that enable uncomplicated and accurate medication administration.

RAUMEDIC and DS TECHNOLOGY have developed a patented system that allows uncomplicated and safe dosing of medications through multiparticulate formulations. To prevent inaccurate dosing, the exact pre-dosing is performed by the pharmacist. The system is therefore ideally suited for pediatrics and geriatrics.

RAUMEDIC is capable of fully automatically producing and packaging plastic components. Filling and packaging of the XStraw® are carried out by the partner DS TECHNOLOGY via its fully automated production line.

Another example developed by RAUMEDIC together with its customer is the new dosing syringe with an integrated locking mechanism for liquid medications. The dosing is adjustable in multiple stages, allowing for individual and precise dosing. Currently, versions of 0.5 ml, 0.75 ml, 1 ml, 5 ml, and 10 ml of the dosing syringe are available.

Effective Protection Against Needle Stick Injuries

Needle stick injuries can have serious health and financial consequences. They are also a risk factor for medical practices, hospitals, and home healthcare. In May 2013, EU Directive 2010/32/EU on the prevention of injuries caused by sharps or pointed instruments in hospitals and the healthcare sector came into force.

With its product RauSafe, RAUMEDIC offers an innovative safety device for injection systems. RauSafe can be adapted to a variety of existing injection systems on the market, provides reliable protection, and is lightweight and easy to use.

After injection, the activated safety device is pushed forward like a telescope. Once the needle is fully enclosed, you can hear and feel the system locking into the final position.
