With a new update, Weiss Technik optimizes its S!MPATI software for improved control of environmental test chambers. The updated version 4.80 offers simpler menu navigation and expanded functions. Most notably, the update can be performed in parallel with the existing software within a few minutes – as recently demonstrated with Ottobock, a global leader in prosthetics, which highlights the smooth process and good collaboration with Weiss Technik.

"It was really a simple update. Even the complex transfer of existing computer data worked seamlessly. Everything was very quick, and the programs ran stably from the start," summarizes Hans Jürgen Ahlborn, Technical Service Coordinator of the well-known manufacturer of high-tech prostheses, about the update of the S!MPATI software. With it, Ottobock operates 12 test chambers from Weiss Technik to test its highly developed medical products and emphasizes the quality of the systems and the reliability of their control software. Hans Jürgen Ahlborn states: "Weiss Technik lives up to its good reputation. The company is a global leader, has the largest service density in this country, and communication with the field service staff runs on the same wavelength."

Successful Cooperation

Ottobock and Weiss Technik have been partners for over 20 years. The healthtech company from Duderstadt is a global leader in the manufacture of electronically controlled prostheses for people with disabilities. As an official Paralympics partner, sport prostheses are also part of their product range.

For manufacturing and repairing medical technology products, Ottobock uses Weiss Technik's climate test chambers to test electronics and mechanics under environmental stress. Each of the 12 test chambers is connected to a computer running Weiss Technik's S!MPATI software. Hans Jürgen Ahlborn describes what Ottobock appreciates about Weiss Technik: "We are convinced by the build quality and technical excellence of the systems. Uncomplicated Update

Recently, Ottobock updated the S!MPATI software to the latest version. Without much effort. Unlike before, the old version no longer needs to be uninstalled to install the new one – the update can now be performed in parallel. This eliminates interruptions, saving time and costs. Hans Jürgen Ahlborn confirms: "We initiated the update and went through all the steps. There were no delays at all."

The service coordinator emphasizes: "The migration, meaning the transfer of existing computer data, used to be more time-consuming. Everything had to be copied and backed up. Now, we simply opened the Weiss Technik Migration Wizard, and it transferred all data and programs to the new software version with the push of a button. We didn't even need to back up our previous files and programs for the update."

The new version of S!MPATI offers users like Ottobock increased benefits: For example, a comparative analysis of multiple recording archives facilitates more user-friendly menu navigation and easier programming. This enables precise analysis of the behavior of different test objects across various test runs in different systems. There is also a converter that translates third-party programs into the S!MPATI format, standardizing the control of testing procedures and test devices.

The software is compatible with Windows 10 and 11, as well as Microsoft Windows Server 2019 and 2022. With the optional S!MPATI Service module, the software can be conveniently run as a Windows service in the background of the operating system – independent of user login and logout, thus avoiding interruptions in recordings.

New customers also benefit from the user-friendliness of version 4.80.2: The software installs itself almost automatically after downloading from the Weiss Technik website and can be tested on up to 99 systems for six months.
