How the CWS air filter works

In light of increasing infection rates, the topic of room hygiene and air disinfection in indoor spaces is in focus. There are a number of diseases such as influenza and Covid-19 that are transmitted through the air. CWS offers customers a solution for air disinfection in indoor spaces with its UV-C air purification device. The combined disinfection and air purification device is available as a nearly two-meter-high column that is easily installed via plug & play, or in the form of a wall mount.

With KMK Kinderzimmer, an operator for childcare has invested in the safety and health of the children in care, their families, and staff. The company, with around 700 employees, equips its Kinderzimmer locations in the cities of Hamburg and Munich with UV-C air purification devices. These are installed in all 180 group rooms of the crèches and daycare centers as well as in office rooms and are already operational at many locations. The goal is to reduce the risk of infection from diseases such as flu and Covid-19.

We take responsibility and stand for the health of the children and staff in our care. Unfortunately, there is currently no funding program for room hygiene in the kindergarten sector. Therefore, we finance this health measure from our own funds,” explains Karina Kruse, founder and managing director of KMK Kinderzimmer GmbH.

Where people gather, the risk of transmitting pathogens through the air is increased. This can have serious health consequences for children during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, who are not yet sufficiently protected against infection. For employers, it also leads to increased sick leave, higher costs, and personnel shortages. With the UV-C air purification devices from CWS, up to 99.9 percent of viruses in the air are filtered out, making the air hygienic and pure.

The combined disinfection and air purification devices from CWS use UV-C technology to render viruses, bacteria, and fungi in the air harmless. The effectiveness has been tested and confirmed by the renowned laboratory of the AEPT Institute at Ruhr University Bochum. The devices operate ozone- and chemical-free and do not use toxically problematic suspended particle filters (special waste). The UV-C lamps are safely shielded so that no UV-C radiation can escape. Considering the cold season when people spend more time indoors, this solution is a suitable addition to existing hygiene concepts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
