Production processes in the cleanroom
In some industries and production processes, contamination by tiny particles can lead to significant impairments of the products. Cleanrooms and certified conveyor belts prevent this issue. Montech AG is therefore launching a new conveyor belt line for cleanrooms of air cleanliness classes 4 and 5.
The role of cleanrooms in modern manufacturing
Cleanrooms are highly controlled environments designed to minimize contamination of products and processes. The cleanroom classes range from ISO 1 (the strictest class) to ISO 9 (the lowest class), with each class specifying specific requirements for air quality and cleanliness. In such environments, controlling the flow of materials is crucial to ensure the integrity of the manufactured products.
Specifications and features of cleanroom conveyor belts
Conveyor belts used in cleanrooms must meet special requirements to maintain the cleanroom standard. Various factors play a significant role in the design and selection of cleanroom conveyor belts.
Controlled drive: The speed and belt run of the conveyor must be precisely adjusted to ensure no abrasion occurs and that the cleanroom requirements are met.
Materials: The materials from which the conveyor belt is made must be easy to clean and sterilize.
Cleanliness: Conveyor belts must be designed so that they do not emit particles or dust that could impair product quality. This requires careful construction and regular maintenance.
Certified conveyor belts for cleanrooms
For ensuring sufficiently clean production areas, an objective, practical, and credible assessment of the purity-related properties of conveyor belts is particularly important. The Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA offers objective and internationally recognized certification services as an independent public research institution. Three conveyor belts from Montech have been tested and certified by the Fraunhofer Institute IPA.
Conveyor belt TB30 VR - ISO 4
The conveyor belt TB30R-140x1500/VR is certified by the Fraunhofer Institute IPA for use in cleanroom class ISO 4 at a speed of 15 m/min.
Conveyor belt TB40 - ISO 4
The conveyor belt TB40R-400x1500/VR is certified by the Fraunhofer Institute IPA for use in cleanroom class ISO 4 at a speed of 15 m/min.
Conveyor belt TB30 MR - ISO 5
The conveyor belt TB30R-140x1500/MR is certified by the Fraunhofer Institute IPA for use in cleanroom class ISO 5 at a speed of 15 m/min.
Cleanroom conveyor belts from Montech
With our cleanroom conveyor belts, we offer transport solutions for a wide range of companies in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and semiconductor industries, for example, for intralogistics of catheters, syringes, liquid handling, microprocessors, optical component products. All three certified conveyor belts are used as inlet and outlet belts in individual manufacturing plants or to connect entire production processes. The width of the TB40R-400x1500/VR conveyor belt ranges from 300 mm to 800 mm, while the widths for the TB30R-140x1500/VR and TB30R-140x1500/MR conveyor belts are selectable from 80 mm to 250 mm. In addition to being suitable for cleanrooms, the belts also have FDA approval. Thanks to the modular design of the conveyor belts, they can be assembled individually and easily extended or shortened at any time, cost-effectively.
Good to know: In addition to the three conveyor belts tested and certified by the Fraunhofer Institute IPA (TB40R-400x1500/VR, TB30R-140x1500/VR, TB30R-140x1500/MR), other belt widths and lengths suitable for cleanrooms are also available.
