The self-adhesive temperature measurement labels from the German trading and consulting company KAGER cover a broad spectrum of industrial and commercial applications. Due to their simple and reliable handling, especially the versions with irreversible result display are considered tamper-proof means of visualization, monitoring, documentation, and traceability of thermal limits. This group of heat and temperature indicators includes both the labels of the Tempstrip family and the multilayer indicators of the Thermoscale type. They are available in various variants and fundamentally differ in their mode of operation.

Wide selection for many tasks

The thermo indicators of the KAGER house brand Tempstrip are flexible stickers for measurement ranges from 29°C to 260°C. They are available in standard versions with various 5-, 6-, 8-, and 10-field scales, as well as single and multi-field measurement points. This allows users in product development, logistics, and testing technology to monitor temperatures of tools, components, packaging, or device surfaces, for example. The accuracy is up to the 100°C limit at +/-1°C and beyond that at +/- 1.0 percent. Upon request, KAGER can also supply the Tempstrip measurement strips and points in custom or product-specific versions. Each package contains ten measurement strips or 50 measurement points. From batch sizes of 5,000, the indicators are also available as roll stock.

For temperature measurement in process and simulation chambers, machine housings, and between functional contact surfaces, the multilayer films of the Thermoscale type are included in the KAGER program. Their multilayer structure with an integrated microcapsule system visualizes temperature changes in a range from 150°C to 210°C. For example, if it needs to be clarified whether the process chamber of a drying oven is functioning properly or whether the heat distribution on pressure rollers is homogeneous, Thermoscale is the medium of choice. Also in lamination technology, photovoltaics, connection technology, and wherever the measurement of temperature changes on surfaces is relevant from a process engineering perspective and precision to the last decimal is not required, this multilayer film can serve as a simple measuring medium.

Display with color capsule indicators

Visualization in Thermoscale is achieved through various colorings and color intensities. The clearly readable color scale ranges from pale light blue to deep carmine red. The temperature-dependent coloring of the film is triggered by the microcapsule layer inside it. In this functional layer between the carrier material and the outer protective layer, tiny color capsules and defined areas with a coloring substance are located. When a Thermoscale film comes into contact with a hot or warm surface, these two components react with each other and color the film.

The intensity of the coloring corresponds to the heat distribution or development. That is, the color display depends on the achieved temperature level and the duration of heat exposure. With minimal effort and without the use of technical measuring devices or complex testing setups, users can quickly and clearly assess the thermal influences on surfaces and components. Thanks to their thinness, the film can also be applied to curved surfaces. Thermoscale is available on five-meter rolls and as individual sheets (270 x 200 mm).
