At Fachpack in Nuremberg, Multivac presented a variety of trade fair innovations to a national and international professional audience. With its offerings, the company supports its worldwide customers in packaging more resource-efficiently, developing customized solutions even more easily, and making packaging processes even safer.

On the first day of the trade fair, Hans Joachim Boekstegers, CEO of Multivac, showcased the highlights at the booth. Several strategic directions became clear:

Point one: Multivac is increasingly focusing on resource-conserving machine concepts. The packaging specialist pursues several innovative approaches to reduce the consumption of film material, energy, and water in the packaging process. The innovations have already been integrated into several thermoforming packaging machines. At Fachpack, Hans Joachim Boekstegers introduced the latest model, the R105 e-concept.

Point two: Multivac is expanding its focus on process safety. This particularly concerns packaging solutions for life science and healthcare products, where the company showcased highly efficient and process-safe compact models such as the thermoforming machine R 145 Med, the tray sealer T 260, and the C 400 TC, a specialized chamber machine with a temperature-controlled sealing strip. Additionally, Multivac Marking & Inspection presented the new folding carton labeler MR 335, a solution that enables the application of a security label to pharmaceutical packaging to ensure authenticity. The labeler can be equipped with a printing solution that prints a serialized Data Matrix code for worldwide traceability of medical devices.

Point three: Multivac continues to systematically expand its global sales and service organization. This year, the new Training & Innovation Center was inaugurated in Wolfertschwenden, significantly increasing the company's capacity to develop customized solutions for its worldwide customers. "This includes packaging sampling, packaging consulting and concept development, food and packaging analytics, as well as HPP testing series," emphasized Boekstegers.

The company already has a worldwide sales and service network in all relevant countries: 400 Multivac consultants are active globally to develop individual packaging solutions for customers. In over 115 countries, around 570 after-sales technicians are available for training, maintenance, and upgrades.

Multivac is already among the few providers capable of offering tailored solutions for companies of all sizes. This portfolio strategy will continue to be pursued by the Allgäu-based packaging specialist in the coming years. "We will further expand our range of solutions and products in our core business areas and occupy additional niches," says Boekstegers. The company is focusing on further diversification of its thermoforming machines. The portfolio of tray sealers will be completed, and Multivac will further develop its integration expertise with its systems.

The packaging specialist is well prepared for these endeavors: In recent years, Multivac has filed significantly more patents than its competitors, once again demonstrating its leadership in innovation. Additionally, the company has established over 3,200 square meters of additional production halls for spare parts, chamber machines, and manufacturing this year.
