At The Battery Show Europe (June 9-11, Stuttgart), Schmalz will showcase vacuum solutions for stable and clean processes in Hall 1 at Stand M11. The focus is on components that handle delicate workpieces safely, respond flexibly to changing geometries, and operate reproducibly.

With the spring impactor FSTImc, Schmalz presents a compact solution for demanding applications. The component combines a very soft spring with integrated flow elements. A flow valve (SVKG) precisely controls the airflow, while a flow resistance (SW) dampens it. This combination stabilizes the vacuum setup when not all suction points are occupied. This allows users to handle different workpieces with one gripper, as the system reacts to partial coverage. This reduces setup times and saves costs. At the same time, the system meets ESD requirements to prevent electrostatic discharges – an essential feature in electronics and battery manufacturing. An online configurator allows for convenient design of the spring impactor.

Clean processes without critical particles

For battery production, Schmalz presents the new compact terminal SCTSi-BY. It completely omits copper, nickel, and zinc, as these metals can release microparticles that significantly disrupt processes. Thanks to integrated functions for vacuum generation and control, users can handle different parts with just one vacuum system. Interfaces (IO-Link or Ethernet) seamlessly integrate the compact terminal into existing systems to monitor manufacturing in real time and make targeted corrections.

Control and application from a single source

Additionally, Schmalz displays electronic vacuum and pressure switches in a compact rectangular form. They precisely detect process states and provide clear signals to the control system. This increases safety, which is crucial in automated systems. For specific applications, industry-specific grippers are available. The magnetic gripper SGM-SV-BY for round cells and the suction grippers SFF/SFB1 cover typical tasks. They are available in low-profile design (HT1), ESD-compliant version (NBR-ESD), or as a combined solution (HT1-ESD) for maximum flexibility.

Binar Handling, part of the Schmalz Group, complements the trade fair innovations with an electric gripper that securely moves circuit boards. The system meets ESD requirements and supports ergonomic working.
