Anyone interested in the topic of highly complex welding with automatic plant technology had the opportunity in September. As part of a multi-day event series, there were insights and demonstrations covering all stages of pipe production, from end processing for pure media to TIG technology for highly precise overlay welding.

PBS Plant Design & Piping Production World

Polysoude, together with its partner companies Smap3D Plant Design, Pipe Bending Systems, and König Maschinenhandel, presented comprehensive plant engineering solutions on September 7 and 8 at Galileo Park in Lennestadt. These solutions cover all processes of pipeline design, manufacturing, and processing, starting from 2D flow diagrams to bending, orbital welding, or heat straightening of pipes.

The main focus of the event at Galileo Park was digital transformation and its actual relevance for machinery and plant engineering, pipeline planning, and pipeline construction, which was examined in both theory and practice.

The integrated complete solution for plant construction showcased the extensive experience of the four companies, as all systems communicate with each other and exchange data. "Through the networking of individual areas along the entire value chain, companies with single and small-series production are already able to design, manufacture, and process pipes and pipelines more cost-effectively, faster, and with higher quality," explains Dr. Christian Gerlach, Managing Director of the host company Pipe Bending Systems (short: PBS). In addition to data for PBS bending machines, welding parameters for TIG orbital welding with products from Polysoude GmbH are also stored.

The T-Drill heat straightening, burring, and pipe cutting machines for contactless separation, introduced by König Maschinenhandel, also benefit from the continuous processes: The digitized, semi-automated verification of feasibility studies provides security for later manufacturing, and the transfer of relevant data to the machines ensures more efficient workflows.

When machines from T-Drill and Polysoude are combined, plant builders also save time and costs because fewer weld seams are present on the pipes, and the elaborate post-processing of the seams is eliminated.

In addition to presentations on individual solutions on the extraordinary grounds of the Sauerland Pyramids, participants could also visit the house exhibition at the Pipe Bending Systems plant nearby, where the four partners demonstrated their products in live operation and responded to specific questions from attendees.
