The compressed air hoses of the TU-X214 series from SMC have been well-known for many years due to their robust and durable quality in many applications. Now, their FDA compliance has been confirmed. This means they can now also be used in medical and pharmaceutical applications as well as in the food industry.

Under the designation TU-X214, the FDA-compliant hoses made of polyurethane (PU) can be found in the SMC range. The current assortment includes five different sizes ranging from 2 to 12 mm outer diameter. As a special feature, SMC offers the hoses of the TU-X214 series in eight different colors. This allows even very complex tubing configurations to be made particularly clear through simple color coding. The assignment of a connection can thus be identified at a glance. The PU hoses are designed for a maximum pressure of 0.8 MPa and an operating temperature range of -20 to +60 °C. They can be ordered in 20 and 100 m rolls.

His experience also shows that many food technologists use FDA-compliant hoses even in non-critical areas of a machine to stay on the safe side. This also prevents confusion during later maintenance procedures.
