Plexus Corp., provider of Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), presents the Sustainability Report for the fiscal year 2025. The sustainability report provides insights into the company's key developments in the areas of environment, social responsibility, and corporate governance (ESG, Environmental, Social, and Governance).

The key achievements for 2025 include the expansion of renewable energy, reduction of emissions, and lower waste intensity. Renewable energy generated at the company's own sites increased by 94% compared to the previous year. Additionally, the EMS specialist exceeded its targets for emissions and waste intensity. Specifically, Plexus achieved an absolute reduction of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 15% and reduced waste-to-landfill intensity by 31%. The number of sites with Zero Waste to Landfill status more than doubled compared to 2024. Worldwide, eight sites meet the criteria for this status.

Clear reduction target by 2033

Furthermore, the report documents a fundamental development of the climate strategy. In the fiscal year 2025, Plexus shifted from intensity-based emission targets to absolute emission reduction targets. Until now, the EMS specialist primarily considered its emissions in relation to company growth, such as to expansion or production volume. Since 2025, Plexus evaluates the actual total amount of its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. The company’s strategy is now aligned with internationally leading standards.

In this context, the EMS service provider has set a clear reduction goal. By 2033, absolute greenhouse gas emissions from Scope 1 and Scope 2 are to decrease by 54.6% compared to the fiscal year 2023. As an intermediate step, Plexus aims for an absolute reduction of 25% in the fiscal year 2026 compared to the same baseline year. The roadmap includes three key action areas: increased energy efficiency in the global production network, process innovations to reduce emissions at the source, and further expansion of renewable energy.

This ensures that our environmental impacts remain a focus. At the same time, we continue to drive innovation for our customers and create long-term value for our stakeholders.”

The team at the center

The ESG program of the EMS expert includes numerous measures to support the more than 20,000 employees worldwide. In the fiscal year 2025, Plexus expanded its mental health offerings. Through specialized support programs, employees gained access to care four times faster on average than through traditional Employee Assistance Programs.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) also play an important role. These networks enable employees to connect across locations and departments and promote social engagement. In the fiscal year 2025, the number of these networks worldwide increased from 53 to 55. Additionally, Plexus employees contributed 32,054 paid volunteer hours through the Volunteer Time Off program in local initiatives. This represents a 46.5% increase compared to the previous year.
