Piepenbrock wins Axia Best Managed Companies Award

Piepenbrock was awarded the Axia Best Managed Companies Award 2019. The competition is announced annually by Deloitte, WirtschaftsWoche, and the Federation of German Industries (BDI). It recognizes companies for strategic foresight, innovation, a sustainable leadership culture, and exemplary corporate management. Olaf Piepenbrock, managing partner of the eponymous corporate group, received the award on May 9th at the Capitol Theater in Düsseldorf.

The Axia Best Managed Companies (BMC) program evaluates companies based on four core areas: strategy, productivity and innovation, culture and commitment, as well as governance and finances. With its corporate philosophy, Piepenbrock was able to impress in all categories. "Despite our 106-year history, we have remained a young company characterized by our dynamism, innovative strength, and short decision-making paths," emphasizes Olaf Piepenbrock. Mid-sized companies with an annual turnover of at least 150 million euros, headquartered in Germany, and that have experienced economic growth in recent years could apply for the Axia Best Managed Companies Award 2019. The application process included a comprehensive online questionnaire and a personal interview with the company management. After evaluation by an expert panel, a jury of renowned business, science, and media representatives selected the winners.

Customers and employees in focus

The award is given to excellently managed companies that serve as role models. "Like all award winners, Piepenbrock stands out for exemplary management. This helps secure the economic future of Germany as a business location and also serves as a role model for other companies," emphasizes Lutz Meyer, partner and head of Deloitte's SME program. "We are proud to receive the Axia Best Managed Companies Award," says Olaf Piepenbrock. "It confirms the path we have taken and underscores the correctness of our focus on our customers and employees," states the managing partner of the Piepenbrock Group.
