Pharmaserv opens pharmaceutical logistics center in Gießen

The new branch of the pharmaceutical logistics company is located in close proximity to the Gießen South Cross with direct motorway access to the A45, only 10 minutes away from the A5 and the Gambacher Cross. This allows for quick connectivity to the main traffic arteries of Central Hesse. With a plot size of approximately 23,400 m², the site is centrally situated between the two existing logistics centers in Marburg and Groß-Gerau.

From around mid-March 2023, the 12,500 m² warehouse will also be available to new pharmaceutical customers. It is divided into three temperature zones: +2°C to +8°C, +15°C to +25°C, and -20°C. The location complies with the necessary GMP and GDP guidelines and is secured by a surrounding fence and video surveillance.

The "Experts for Biologics" are thereby expanding their capacity by an additional approximately 12,750 Euro pallet spaces, designed for the storage of finished pharmaceuticals as well as production consumables or MedTech products. Pharmaserv Logistics also offers comprehensive pharmaceutical logistics solutions for blood products, insulin, and vaccines at the new branch.

The logistics brand of Pharmaserv GmbH, based in the Pharma and Industry Park Behringwerke, has also focused on sustainability in its new warehouse. The logistics center, built in 2020 by VGP Industriebau GmbH, is equipped with photovoltaic systems and electric charging stations and is DGNB certified. Additionally, it is currently being upgraded with heat pump technology.
