parts2clean 2016: Successful in Quality and Quantity

- Trade visitors with high decision-making authority and investment intentions
- 35 percent of the more than 7,400 trade visitors deepened their cleaning knowledge in the specialist forum

On its 14th edition, parts2clean achieved a strong result from May 31 to June 2, 2016, with more than 7,400 visitors. The international leading trade fair for industrial parts and surface cleaning was held simultaneously with O&S, the international trade fair for surfaces and coatings, as well as other specialist fairs at the Stuttgart exhibition grounds, all of which led to visitor synergies. It was not only the high visitor frequency that created a great atmosphere among the 230 exhibitors from 16 countries, but also their professional quality and decision-making competence. The trade visitor share at parts2clean was an above-average 99 percent. According to visitor analysis, around 85 percent are responsible for or involved in operational investment decisions. 33 percent of trade visitors arrived with concrete investment intentions, and another 48 percent indicated they are considering an investment. "The great interest from trade visitors underscores the importance of parts2clean as a global platform for initiating business in the field of industrial cleaning technology," says Olaf Daebler, Managing Director of parts2clean at Deutsche Messe AG.

65 percent of trade visitors came from EU countries, 25 percent from other European states, and around ten percent from Asia and America. Besides Germany, the strongest visitor nations were Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. Among the represented industries, machinery and plant engineering, automotive and vehicle manufacturing, surface technology and processing, as well as metalworking, took the top spots.

35 percent of visitors used the simultaneously translated (German <> English) lectures of the parts2clean specialist forum to deepen their cleaning knowledge. The guided tours, which were conducted bilingually for the first time this year, also attracted great interest from international trade visitors. Around 50 percent of participants came from non-German-speaking countries. The feedback from the selected companies, which conducted two tours each day—"Resource-efficient cleaning processes and media" and "Quality assurance and analytics"—was very positive. Many of them announced they would again participate in the guided tours at the next parts2clean.

High-quality contacts and interesting projects

Overall, exhibitors expressed satisfaction after the three days of the fair. "It was one of the best fairs we've had in a long time. We not only participated in the guided tours but also used the press service offered by the organizer before parts2clean to present our new cleaning system, which brought additional visitors to our booth. As a result, all our staff were constantly in conversations. The visitors came from very different industries and countries, including Italy, France, Japan, China, India, and Sweden. We will exhibit again at parts2clean in 2017," says Christian Härtel, Sales, Zippel GmbH. Rainer Straub, Sales Director at Dürr Ecoclean GmbH, reports a good trade fair experience: "It was surprising that many customers with ongoing projects visited us, and they now want to finalize them. There were also some very concrete new inquiries. Of course, this is related to us presenting new systems again at parts2clean. We also had interesting conversations with company representatives from Asia, for example from India and Japan." Berk Gülörten, Sales Manager at Protechnology Endüstriyel Makine Ve Kimya Sanayi Tic. Ltd. Stl., Turkey, was also enthusiastic about the course of the fair: "We manufacture systems for aqueous parts cleaning and are very happy to have exhibited at parts2clean. We were able to make over 100 interesting contacts, which is great. The fair is very good for our company because of the high professionalism of the visitors. They know exactly what they are looking for and what they need, so we will return next year." This is also confirmed by Sandra Wensch, Marketing, Sita Messtechnik GmbH: "We expanded our exhibition booth, and almost all staff were constantly in conversation with visitors. Many new contacts were made here. Our main industries are automotive, metal processing, and electroplating. The strongest visitor countries for us were Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, but one-third of visitors came from non-German-speaking countries. parts2clean is our main trade fair, and we will definitely participate again in 2017." Similarly, Olivier Huin, President of Microvision Instruments, France, states: "This is our fourth participation in a trade fair, and for us as providers of software and turnkey solutions for cleanliness control, it is important to participate in parts2clean because all our competitors are represented there. The fair is international, and we have already found new customers from France here. This year, we had visitors from Slovenia, Italy, Turkey, and Germany, who were very interested in our system." Gerhard Koblenzer, Managing Director of LPW Reinigungssysteme GmbH, also reported great interest: "The course of the fair was very good for us, and it matches the overall trend of the year. Custom system construction for aqueous cleaning is going very well. There are also significantly more high-purity applications, which means higher requirements, for example due to coating and bonding processes." Pietro Bussi, Product Development, Sales at Bussi Demagnetizing Systems, Italy, also reports increasing demands: "Demagnetizing is becoming increasingly important in the cleaning of ferromagnetic components to meet strict particulate cleanliness standards. Therefore, the inquiries from our existing customers and visitors were very specific. We were very pleased about that. Our expectations were met, and we will participate again in parts2clean in 2017." Chuck Sexton, Global Product Line Manager Industrial at Kyzen, USA, leaves no doubt: "parts2clean is one of the top trade fairs we participate in worldwide, and the 2016 event was extremely successful for us. We were able to make many contacts, mostly from the industrial sector, but also some from electronics manufacturing. These were new contacts and discussions with existing customers and our partners in plant engineering. For us, participating in the fair is always a very good networking opportunity. We will be present again in 2017." The networking opportunity is also appreciated by Dr. Christian Rösener, Chemical Service Engineer at Safechem Europe GmbH: "All in all, it was a very positive trade fair for Safechem. Our booth was consistently busy—both with potential new customers and as a networking hub for our service community. Important customer meetings were held, during which new strategies were developed together."
