Partnership agreed upon for IRAN PLAST

The Düsseldorf Trade Fair, a successful organizer of international trade fairs for the plastics and rubber industry, is expanding its portfolio. With the Iranian National Petrochemical Company NPC, it has agreed on an extensive partnership for IRAN PLAST. Starting from the upcoming event, which will take place from April 13 to 17, 2016, in Tehran, the Düsseldorf Trade Fair will be exclusively responsible for organizing and implementing international exhibitor participation.

IRAN PLAST, which takes place every two years and will be held for the 10th time next year, has established itself as the most important platform for the plastics and rubber industry in Iran. In the 2014 trade fair, around 800 exhibitors participated, including 250 from abroad, and 68,000 visitors, including delegations from Armenia, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. An accompanying conference program provided insights into the latest trends and developments in the polymer sector. The trade fair is supported by the Iran Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) and Iran International Exhibition Co. (IIEC).

Iran, a country with 75 million inhabitants, has a strong oil and gas industry, which accounts for more than 50 percent of the total export revenue. In the investment goods sector, there is a significant backlog; modern machinery, components, processes, and know-how are lacking. With the upcoming easing of economic sanctions, it is generally expected that trade relations with Iran will gain significant momentum. Experts anticipate increasing demand, especially for machinery and equipment, particularly in the field of plastics and rubber machinery.

The Düsseldorf Trade Fair has gained international expertise in the plastics and rubber industry, primarily as the organizer of the K trade fair. The world's most important industry event is held every three years and serves as a meeting point for machine and equipment manufacturers, raw material producers, processing companies, as well as experts from the downstream sectors. In addition to K, Düsseldorf Trade Fair, on its own and together with its subsidiaries, organizes outstanding regional plastics and rubber trade fairs, such as interplastica in Moscow, INDOPLAS (together with indopack and indoprint) in Jakarta, and T-PLAS in Bangkok. Furthermore, there have been longstanding collaborations with the organizers of Arabplast, Chinaplas, and Plastindia.
