For continuous quality and minimal production failures, a clean environment is an essential prerequisite. This is especially true for semiconductor manufacturing facilities for structures in the micro- and nanometer range, as well as in microchip production, medical technology, precision engineering, and cosmetics.

To achieve the highest possible cleanliness in the cleanroom, components such as walls, ceilings, floors, or filters must not absorb or release disturbing particles. Employees are only allowed to enter the cleanroom wearing special cleanroom clothing and only through suitable airlocks or air showers.

But how can we ensure that the cleanrooms meet the specified requirements?

This is where the particle counter comes into play as a control instrument. It measures, for example, using the scattered light method, the number and size of particles carried in the air, which can significantly impair the quality and functionality of products.

Depending on the requirements, cleanliness class, and process workflows, mobile or stationary particle measuring devices can be used. From small, lightweight handheld devices like our HHPC+ to larger, 50 or even 100-liter tabletop devices of the 3400 series, up to permanently installed remote counters with monitoring software.
