Pöppelmann FAMAC®, a division of the plastics specialist Pöppelmann and among other things specialized in packaging for the food and pharmaceutical industries, has launched a particularly hygienic packaging concept that ensures optimal dosing and simplified handling.

Simple, hygienic packaging concept: Heat-sealed spout

The pouch packaging from Pöppelmann FAMAC® features a heat-sealed spout that is closed by a valve and only opens when pressure is applied to the actuator element. This allows the contents to be dispensed without air and maintains its hygienic status even after the first opening of the package. The system prevents air from entering the packaging during product dispensing or residues from forming on the lid, as is often the case with existing solutions.

Different opening diameters for various products

The heat-sealed spout series from Pöppelmann FAMAC® is characterized by a guiding groove system, uniform dimensions, and different opening diameters ranging from 8.5 to 21.5 mm. The larger diameters allow liquids or even viscous and free-flowing substances to be dispensed more easily and dosed more accurately. The packaging system is suitable for both the pharmaceutical and food industries.

PÖPPELMANN blue® initiative for greater sustainability

As part of the company-wide sustainability initiative PÖPPELMANN blue®, Pöppelmann FAMAC® is also working together with partners in the foil and pouch manufacturing sectors to develop fully recyclable foil pouches with spouts. In the future, it will be possible to offer fully recyclable pouch packaging that can be reused as raw material for the production of new spouts, caps, and pouches—thus ensuring a closed material cycle.
