PÖPPELMANN blue®, GPN 608 and GPN 610 made from recycled material, new standard series from material-saving articles, and sealing with LSR in the field of e-mobility
The Pöppelmann Group presents its divisions Pöppelmann KAPSTO® and Pöppelmann K-TECH® at the Hannover Messe from April 1 to 5, 2019. Among the highlights for the plastic specialist from Lohne are, among other things, universal protective elements made from 100 percent recycled plastic as well as new standard series with particularly resource-saving items that require significantly fewer resources during transport and storage. Additionally, the LSR sealing process for plastic components offers an excellent solution for battery technology in the field of e-mobility due to its exceptional durability.
Protective elements GPN 608 and GPN 610 made from 100 percent recycled material
The focus of Pöppelmann KAPSTO®'s trade fair presentation, the specialist for plastic protective elements, is the broad initiative PÖPPELMANN blue®. This consolidates numerous company-wide projects committed to a continuous circular economy. An important part of this sustainability strategy is the use of recycled material. During the Hannover Messe, Pöppelmann KAPSTO® will present the proven standard series GPN 608 and GPN 610 now also made from 100 percent recycled material. GPN 610 is a universally applicable protective element used as a cap or plug, perfectly covering internal threads, holes, external threads, and more in various diameters from 4.4 to 84.5 mm. The conically shaped plastic protection also excellently bridges tolerances. Additionally, the cone closure GPN 608 with a tab is now available in recycled version. Both standard series are available from stock and impress with identical mechanical and physical properties compared to the existing series.
New standard series Universal protection GPN 400 and Handle plug GPN 480
As another innovation, Pöppelmann KAPSTO® introduces two new standard series: The ECO-universal protection GPN 400 made from polystyrene (PS) and the ECO-handle plug GPN 480 made from polystyrene with a side handle flange for quick disassembly. The new items are also available in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as GPN 401 and GPN 481. The new series offer secure clamping for ranges between 57 and 130 mm, making them suitable for a wide range of applications. They are produced using a particularly resource-efficient thermoforming process, reducing material use by up to 70 percent. Their stackable design results in up to 75 percent less transport and storage volume.
E-mobility: Sealing with LSR for demanding battery technology
The division Pöppelmann K-TECH®, specialized in highly precise technical plastic solutions, e.g., for the automotive industry, focuses entirely on e-mobility at its trade fair presentation. Here, industry professionals will learn everything about sealing with two-component liquid silicone rubber (LSR), which Pöppelmann K-TECH® has added to its range. The process is ideal for components with very high sealing and temperature requirements. Thanks to its extreme durability, LSR is an optimal solution in the use around battery technology for e-vehicles, which requires very high temperature resistance. The material also exhibits excellent properties in compression deformation tests as well as good weathering, aging, and UV resistance. At Pöppelmann K-TECH®, sealing with LSR is already used for customers in the e-mobility sector.
Pöppelmann KAPSTO® and Pöppelmann K-TECH®, divisions of the Pöppelmann Group, will be at Hannover Messe in Hall 4 at Stand F10 and in Hall 21 at Stand B13.
