OVE Plasmatec reports a stable turnover for 2024 in the mid-single-digit million range. With a slight growth of just under two percent compared to the previous year, the management is satisfied given the challenging economic environment. The main focus of the past year was on building a technical center and developing PFAS-free coatings. Additionally, the refinisher of elastomers was able to meet increasing requests for technical cleanliness with high-quality solutions. For 2025, the new PFAS-free paints and growth targets in the aerospace sector in the UK provide confidence. Furthermore, the family-owned company is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

"In view of the difficult market environment with general crisis sentiment and legal tightening, we can be satisfied with the small sales growth in 2024," emphasizes Bettina Kremer, Managing Director of OVE Plasmatec. The family-owned company from Weil im Schönbuch, which specializes in coating and refining elastomer surfaces, was able to keep its sales stable in the mid-single-digit million range in 2024. Contrary to the general trend, there was even a growth of nearly two percent compared to the previous year. The family business traditionally does not publish specific figures.

Increased demand for LABS-compliant surfaces

Thus, 2024 was marked on the one hand by significant order cancellations due to the looming PFAS ban. Customers from the biomedical, semiconductor, or pneumatic sectors, as well as users from drinking water or food industries, are waiting for new coating alternatives. Along with the crisis in automotive manufacturing, the outlook was not promising. On the other hand, OVE Plasmatec was able to respond to the increased demand for general technical cleanliness with high-quality solutions, thanks to its flexibility.

This benefits the company, which years ago pioneered the use of plasma technology in the elastomer sector with the deep-porous cleaning of seals. In addition to wet cleaning processes, OVE developed plasma cleaning into a highly effective method for creating LABS-conforming surfaces. With investments in its own technical center at the quality laboratory directly next to production, the management has made the company more future-proof. The test and inspection facilities allow the future of elastomer coatings to be simulated. This way, the newly developed alternatives for PFAS-free paints can also be tested.

25 years – OVE Plasmatec celebrates anniversary

For 2025, the management is cautiously optimistic. Growth opportunities include three new PFAS-free paints and potential new markets in the aerospace sector in the UK. Furthermore, the management and all employees are pleased that everything has been running smoothly at OVE Plasmatec for 25 years during the anniversary year.
