Optimal in the schedule

Thanks to an ideal collaboration between the general construction company Wolff & Müller, the planners, and the client Bürkert, the large-scale construction site at the Criesbach location, costing 30 million, is making great progress. In recent days, the shell and steel construction of the new production building and the 18-meter-high high-bay warehouse have been completed, trapezoidal sheets have been installed, and work on the facade has begun. At the training center, walls and ceilings have been poured, and the canteen is visibly taking shape after the foundation slab was completed and the walls erected.

Progress is also being made in other areas: at the so-called Component D, an extension of the existing Plant 6, the shell construction work has now begun, eight weeks before the planned start of construction. Currently, the underground garage access is being concreted, and the gas line is being laid along Keltenstraße. Full operation is scheduled to begin in early October. A 500-ton crane will be assembled to install two beams weighing 25 tons each, which is normally used for erecting wind turbines.

Initial important trades for the interior fit-out have been awarded, including ventilation technology. Here, Bürkert opted for a so-called intermittent ventilation system, in which the air is introduced and exhausted discontinuously. This promises a pleasant air circulation, as the airflow directions are constantly changing. The ventilation and air conditioning technology manufacturer HOWATHERM uses, among other things, flow sensors with the corresponding installation components from Bürkert.

The completion date for the overall 21,150 sqm area is the end of July 2016. By then, a production and manufacturing building with office space, a training center, an underground garage, a canteen, an extension of the existing Plant 6, and a high-bay warehouse will be built on the site in Criesbach.
