Ophthalmology: EnviroFALK impresses with state-of-the-art water treatment technology

Ambulant Eye Surgery Center operates cleaning and disinfection devices that are supplied with treated water. The water treatment system for producing pure and ultrapure water is from EnviroFALK.

In one of the most renowned eye surgery centers, the full spectrum of general ophthalmology is offered. State-of-the-art equipment enables early detection of eye diseases and precise, individualized surgeries.

The delicate constructions of ophthalmological instruments require particularly careful cleaning and disinfection. Special cleaning and disinfection devices (RDGs) ensure that the instruments are cleaned and disinfected safely and traceably.

Cleaning and disinfection devices require pure water

Tap water often still contains salts that cause streaks and smudges on the instruments. Additionally, silica and silicon dioxide are frequently found in tap water. A high content of silica, for example, leads to deposits on instruments and devices. For the operation of cleaning and disinfection devices, treated water with consistently high water quality is crucial. Strict limits in the production of pure and ultrapure water ensure that cleaned instruments do not transmit infections or cross-contamination. The eye surgery center was also able to verify this: EnviroFALK’s pure and ultrapure water systems meet and even exceed the limits of the European standards DIN EN 15883 and DIN EN 285:2016-05.
