Open and close – with hinge specialties from Ganter

You might think that all hinge options have already been exhausted when it comes to opening and closing. Not so, because Ganter always manages
to improve hinges, equip them with practical additional features, or design them for very special niche applications.

For "heavy duty" applications, for example, the GN 237.3 hinge is available, a compact heavy-duty hinge made of stainless steel. Capable of swiveling 180°, the hinges also withstand high dynamic wear thanks to special spacer washers – regardless of the mounting orientation. The hinge leaves are also available with centering stops by design, ensuring a more secure attachment – preventing slipping and eliminating the shear forces that are extremely stressful on screws. The hinge pin is secured against loss by a punch and equipped with durable permanent lubrication. An asymmetrical strap configuration and the possible third mounting hole prove particularly useful when mounting in areas with thinner material cross-sections.

The GN 235 hinge series, on the other hand, can be mounted with cylinder screws and – thanks to an offset axis – can still swivel 180° without collision. Horizontal and vertical elongated holes facilitate adjustment, the hole grid corresponds to existing hole configurations, making it easy to replace existing hinges.

Additional functionalities are offered by hinges with variable friction, and in another Ganter standard, an integrated spring ensures the hinge's self-return. This specialized area, which also includes integrated damping, latching, or locking functions, is currently being systematically expanded by Ganter.

An kinematic highlight is already available at Ganter: the multi-joint hinge with 4-, 7-, or 10-fold joint mechanism, which opens and simultaneously closes flaps. 180° is also the current standard here, with internal installation also carried out using elongated holes.

With its design hinges GN 138, Ganter provides solutions for design-sensitive applications: the closed hinge body made of zinc die-cast conceals mounting screws and is available in different sizes – soon also in stainless steel.
