On a growth trajectory through innovations and investments

World premiere for the second tablet press of the new FE series. The company continues to gain market share. Investments in a global network and expansion of the service offerings are intended to strengthen growth.

Fette Compacting, a company of the LMT Group, presented the FE35 at ACHEMA 2012 as the second machine of its new generation of tablet presses. The FE35 offers the shortest changeover times for plants in its performance class and is thus the ideal platform for increasingly flexible tablet production. Through targeted investments in its international locations and the expansion of its service offerings, the world market leader in tablet technology also aims to consolidate its dominant market position and continue growing.

"It has been a good year, but we know there is still much more we can achieve," said Olaf J. Müller, Managing Director of Fette Compacting, reflecting positively on the past fiscal year at ACHEMA 2012. "With the FE35, we demonstrate that our decision to take a big leap and develop a completely new generation of tablet presses was the right one. The first machine of the series, the FE55, is attracting the greatest attention worldwide, and we have already received twelve orders from customers across all regions and market segments. With the FE35, we are expanding our innovative offerings for customers worldwide."

The innovation offensive is driven by growing market shares and the expansion of internal resources. At the headquarters in Schwarzenbek near Hamburg, the company has modernized production, significantly shortened manufacturing times, and increased capacities. Fette Compacting also produces successfully in China, delivering more than 20 percent of all machines manufactured from its Nanjing site.

Especially abroad, Fette Compacting aims to further increase market shares, as Olaf J. Müller explains: "A strategic lever for our planned growth is our Competence Centers. There, we offer customers comprehensive services, from training and consulting to press trials under production conditions. After opening the Competence Center in Campinas, Brazil, in April of this year, we now have five similarly equipped facilities worldwide, ensuring we are well positioned in all growth markets."

The investments in the Competence Centers are intended to expand the service offerings globally. This includes both product-related services around tablet technology and services that help users optimize their processes, such as training, consulting, and engineering. Just in time for ACHEMA, Fette Compacting also launched its new website at www.fette-compacting.com. The new online platform aims to develop Fette Compacting into an expert hub for all questions related to tablet production, while also giving subsidiaries the opportunity to publish more local or regional content.

Additionally, the company is expanding its sales network. In Spain, Fette Compacting has established a subsidiary, and in France, it has taken over the existing distribution partner Ecopac together with Uhlmann. The two companies also jointly operate a sales and service office in Beijing.

Fette Compacting and Uhlmann are also members of Excellence United, a strategic alliance founded in April 2011 by six companies in specialized machinery manufacturing for the pharmaceutical, medical technology, and process industries. At ACHEMA 2012, the companies presented their joint offering of turnkey production solutions for the first time on an area of 2,400 square meters.
