With nora dryfix ed, nora systems has achieved an innovation for quick installation of rubber coverings in areas with special requirements, which is unique worldwide. The highly effective dry adhesive roll expands the nora system offering and provides the possibility for rapid installation of electrostatically dissipative (ESD) and electrostatically conductive (EC) floor coverings, primarily used in industry and healthcare. Electrostatic discharge can lead to risky functional failures of electronic components and medical devices.

More surface in less time

“For our customers, in addition to the quality of our floors, it is important that installation and commissioning can be carried out simply, quickly, and flexibly,” says Bettina Haffelder, Vice President nora DACH. “With the development of nora dryfix ed as an alternative to traditional wet bonding, we now meet these wishes even in areas with ESD requirements.” This means that electrostatically dissipative nora rubber floors can now be easily installed in just a few steps in production environments of electronics manufacturing, intensive care units, or operating rooms — for more surface area in less time. Especially when areas need to be operational around the clock and downtime should be minimized, this is a significant advantage. Even overlay installation is possible with the dry adhesive.

Ten-year warranty on ESD properties

The dry adhesive rolls are 75 cm wide and 30 m long, meeting the requirements for conductive adhesives. Customers receive a ten-year warranty on the electrostatic properties. The product also withstands extreme dynamic pressure loads, such as rolling heavy equipment over it.

Success technology nora nTx: More than 1.2 million square meters sold

nora dryfix ed is a component of the nora system offering for quick and straightforward installation of rubber floors. Another is the successful quick-installation system nora nTx, where the coverings are already equipped with an adhesive backing from the factory. After peeling off the protective film, the floor can be cleanly and securely installed on an appropriate substrate with just a few steps — and it is immediately walkable — eliminating drying times. nora nTx can be installed on existing floors as well as on typical new-build substrates made of concrete or cement screed — even elevated residual moisture is no problem. These advantages have already convinced many customers — nora nTx is becoming a bestseller: Since its market launch in 2015, more than 1.2 million square meters of floors with the self-adhesive backing have been sold. The DACH region, alongside North America, is the most important sales market. The most popular product in the quick-installation system is the tile product norament grano nTx, while for sheet goods, it’s noraplan signa nTx and sentica nTx. Many large projects also rely on this solution, not only in building construction. Among the top projects in the DACH region are L&T Sport in Osnabrück, the Nuuvera cannabis production greenhouse in Neumünster, and the Synlab laboratory building in Leinfelden-Echterdingen. The first vehicles of the X-trains of Vienna Lines’ newest subway generation are also equipped with noraplan nTx. The modernization of the existing S-Bahn Berlin fleet, covering approximately 50,000 m², is already underway.
