Nilfisk at ACHEMA 2022

Cleaning innovations for the process industry

At this year's ACHEMA in Frankfurt, the cleaning equipment manufacturer Nilfisk presents a variety of innovations for the process industry. The focus of the trade fair is primarily on new developments in the field of pneumatic product conveying systems, but also on powerful vacuums for efficient and safe handling of hazardous dusts and materials.

With the new 3-series of automated product conveying systems, Nilfisk combines its over 30 years of expertise with needs-oriented innovation. The centerpiece is the new model 3VP, which, with its modular GMP design, integrates seamlessly into any production environment. With a conveying capacity of up to 550 kilograms per hour, the compressed air-driven conveyor feeds process machines (such as capsule filling machines or tablet presses) with powders and granulates. The implemented plug conveying process ensures that mixture components are not separated despite differences in weight or density, and that the concentration of components remains constant. The excellent filtration performance of the PTFE-M-class main filter and the HEPA H14 filter element allows safe and hygienic handling of fine powders up to 0.2 mm, while efficient filter cleaning procedures enable quick material changes. Thanks to the compact dimensions of the hopper and chassis, as well as the low weight of a maximum of 17 kilograms, installation is easily possible even in very confined spaces.

The industrial vacuum CTS40 MC LP Z22 EXA 5PP is ideal for trouble-free continuous operation in small spaces, thanks to its maintenance-free, powerful four-kilowatt side channel blower and compact size. The universally applicable machine achieves an air conveying rate of up to 117 liters per second and a vacuum of 23 kilopascals. Thanks to the robust chassis, it is easy to handle and demonstrates perfect mobility. With approval for dust classes L, M, and H, the CTS40 can be used as a safety vacuum at any time and also in the ATEX zone 22. A wide range of ATEX accessories guarantees complete safety and discharge capability of the entire system. Highlights of the equipment also include the optional, patented Longopac system for the disposal of dirt and dust using endless plastic bags.

In terms of safety, hygiene, and performance, the industrial vacuum VHW421 HC XXX 5PP meets the highest standards. The GMP-compliant machine is easy to clean and disinfect due to its modular design. The practical lid and container locking system simplifies emptying. The PullClean technology, in turn, enables efficient cleaning of the class-M cartridge filter system during operation. The power consumption of the VHW421 HC XXX 5PP is 2.2 kilowatts, and the container has a capacity of 48 liters. For especially high safety at work, it is approved for dust class H and thus retains 99.995 percent of dusts with ACGIH values <0.1 mg/m³, including carcinogenic dusts and dusts with pathogens. Additional protection is provided by a HEPA exhaust air filter.

Specifically developed for use in cleanroom environments, the GMP-compliant industrial vacuum VHS110 CR demonstrates its strengths particularly in pharmaceuticals, food, biomedical, and semiconductor industries. Its compact design and stainless steel housing make the alternating current machine extremely maneuverable and robust – ideal for mobile deployments in industrial settings. The 37-liter stainless steel container handles wet, dry, or corrosive substances, is easy to clean, and suitable for sterilization in autoclaves. The performance data are impressive: 1,000 watts of power consumption, a maximum vacuum of 22 kilopascals, and up to 2,700 liters of air conveyed per minute. For optimal filtration, the machine features an antistatic M-class star filter and a HEPA 14 filter for very fine dusts. An optional ULPA 15 upstream filter is available. To ensure consistently high performance, the filter cleaning system "PullClean" can clean the entire filter system during operation.

For use under the strictest contamination controls, the cleanroom vacuum IVT 1000 CR H is the first choice. Equipped with excellent filtration technology, the machine reliably prevents any contamination of surfaces and room air from the material being vacuumed. The installed HEPA H13 and ULPA U15 filters meet class H requirements, allowing the IVT 1000 CR H to be used in ISO 4 cleanrooms. The modular design and high-quality materials of the machine and accessories ensure not only comfortable maintenance but also sterilization in autoclaves at 121 degrees Celsius. The adapted performance data guarantee efficient and safe operation: 1.2 kilowatts of power consumption and 35 liters of air conveyed per second at a vacuum of 20 kilopascals.
