Basic ideas or technologies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, LinkedIn, etc., dominate our corporate communication. Our CleanRoomNet network has been back online for 2 weeks with a new website www.cleanroomnet.de.

Innovation (renewal through the application of new procedures and techniques) is also highly emphasized in CleanRoomNet. This includes close collaboration with ZPT, the Center for Productivity and Technology Saar e.V., as well as KWT, the contact point for knowledge and technology transfer at Saarland University.

How can we bring changes in our cleanroom technology to the people, no, to the customers, if there are long distances before they find out about it? Therefore, we must work together or cooperate with those who are at the forefront of research and development.

Already in spring, our network met on the campus of Saarland University on the topic: “Further Development of Cleanroom Technologies.” The goal of this event was to find approaches and individual interfaces for optimizing and further developing cleanroom technologies.

Core topics of this meeting were:

To extend cleaning intervals through surface modifications and to prevent microbial growth.

The second topic: Laser interference structuring - a tool for creating customized surfaces. Regarding the general issues of friction and wear, it is evident that enormous costs are incurred annually for machines, tools, and materials due to increased wear. Particularly, laser-structured surfaces seem to be promising candidates for tribological applications. Physically, it is fundamental to avoid friction sources that cause contamination in the cleanroom.

It is therefore even more important to exchange ideas with scientists from Saarland University to stay informed about new technologies.

For several years, the CleanRoomNet network, represented by Paul Jochem Reinraumtechnik-Jochem and Dirk Steil Becker Reinraumtechnik, has been organizing forums in close cooperation with ZPT, offering technology transfer and information exchange opportunities.
In October 2013, the Cleanroom Technology Forum is to be launched as another initiative.

The Cleanroom Technology Forum:

The dialogue in this topic-specific network aims to combine Saarland-based expert knowledge with the specialized knowledge of the network partners. Another important aspect is the transfer of technological knowledge (e.g., research and development results, process and experiential knowledge) between companies or between companies and research institutions. This makes responsible action tangible through continuous awareness and exchange of ideas for each partner.

Companies should be supported in recognizing early on the developments and trends that determine competitiveness across all business areas and in positioning themselves accordingly.
