New: RK Duoline Clean

RK Rose+Krieger offers a total of eight different variants of the RK Duoline Clean, tested according to EN ISO 14644-1, for cleanroom use, driven by spindle or timing belt.

RK Rose+Krieger has optimized its profile linear unit RK Duoline for use in cleanrooms and now offers spindle- and belt-driven RK Duoline Clean linear units with or without vacuum connection in the standard sizes 60 and 80. A total of eight different variants have been successfully tested according to EN ISO 14644-1 and received certification for cleanrooms of globally applicable classes 1 (RK Duoline Clean 60 SU with vacuum connection at 0.5 m/s) to 5 (RK Duoline Clean 80 Z without vacuum connection at 0.5 m/s). All necessary tests to demonstrate cleanroom suitability were conducted at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA in Stuttgart.

Industries where cleanroom production is an important part of manufacturing processes include, among others, the semiconductor industry, photovoltaics, microelectronics, aerospace technology, and the automotive industry. The required cleanroom classes vary accordingly.

Since cleanroom production rarely involves moving heavy loads, RK Rose+Krieger focused on sizes 60 and 80 when developing its cleanroom axes. The result is a total of eight different linear units, each tested at three different speeds:

- RK Duoline 60 S — RK Duoline 80 S
- RK Duoline 60 SU — RK Duoline 80 SU
- RK Duoline 60 Z — RK Duoline 80 Z
- RK Duoline 60 ZU — RK Duoline 80 ZU

The Duoline Clean linear units are optionally available with a ball screw drive or a polyurethane belt. All Duoline Clean units generally feature a stainless steel cover strip. Additionally, each cleanroom axis can be equipped with a vacuum connection, which significantly reduces particle emission.

Initial orders for the new axes have already been received. These include, among others, the delivery of several RK Duoline Clean 60 Z and 80 Z units without vacuum connection for substrate handling in glass substrate manufacturing, as well as the use of RK Duoline 60 S as a handling axis for a robot that can move autonomously within the cleanroom.
