New production line put into operation

Pharma-Tac-Label: In Dorfen, labels with hanging hooks have been produced since this year.

The printing machine is the heart of the Pharma-Tac 1 production line in Dorfen. A total of six new systems have been purchased.

The new production line consists of a flexographic printing machine, a pre-check machine, a bale dispenser, a large roll wrapper, and two final inspection machines.

The Schreiner Group has commissioned a production line for Pharma-Tac labels at its newest location in Dorfen, which was opened last autumn. These special labels from the Schreiner MediPharm business unit feature an integrated hanging device, allowing infusion bottles to be hung directly on the label. Especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic, these labels are increasingly needed and in high demand.

It has been only half a year since the Schreiner Group officially opened its latest production site in Dorfen with a ceremonial event. However, a lot has happened in the meantime. At the end of last year, 26 employees were working in Dorfen; today, there are already 35. Eight of them now work on the new Pharma-Tac 1 production line. A new team has been assembled for this purpose. Both long-standing, experienced employees and newly hired staff work together here, hand in hand.

“It’s great to see what we have already achieved together,” says Segment Manager Fillip Wonnemann. A total of six new machines were acquired for the production line. With a flexo printing machine, a pre-press machine, a hanger dispenser, a large roll unwinder, and two final inspection machines, all individual production steps can be carried out centrally at one location. This increases capacity and relieves the production in Oberschleißheim.

With the installation and commissioning of the new Pharma-Tac 1 production line, the high-tech company is following its schedule to process a significant share of the labels for the pharmaceutical industry in Dorfen in its final expansion stage. Matthias Meier, the project manager responsible for setting up the site, is pleased that the setup is proceeding smoothly and comments: “Especially during the current COVID-19 crisis, our labels with integrated hanging loops are in particularly high demand. We are proud to be able to contribute in Dorfen as well.”
