New polypropylene tips from Analytik Jena enable parallel pipetting of 1536 channels with minimal throughput times

Analytik Jena, a leading manufacturer of analytical technology, is expanding its liquid handling portfolio with a new 1536-tip tray for the CyBio Well vario. Combined with the appropriate pipetting head, this consumable enables parallel pipetting in 1536 channels and supports volumes from 100 nL to 8 µL – ideal for high-throughput applications in pharmaceuticals and basic research. The polypropylene pipette tips ensure particularly high purity and error reduction.

The new 1536 tip magazine was specifically developed to meet the challenges of miniaturization. The especially straight tips, combined with the high precision of the pipetting head, ensure the highest accuracy when working with 1536-well plates. Misalignments are eliminated, resulting in exceptionally high reproducibility. This allows for easy downscaling of samples while maintaining precision, leading to a significant reduction in reagent consumption.

Furthermore, the polypropylene tips of the 1536 tip tray impress with their highly compatible material and user-friendly design. Thanks to the plug-and-play function, the pipetting head and tip magazine can be quickly and easily exchanged. Advantages of polypropylene include its purity and chemical resistance, as well as its hydrophobic surface, which reduces liquid adhesion and potential errors. Additionally, when downscaling samples from the 384 format to the 1536 format, the influence of variables is eliminated by changing the laboratory consumable. This increases the reproducibility of results and simplifies screening workflows.

In addition, the new consumable has been developed with sustainability in mind: the pipette tips are produced carbon dioxide neutrally, and the magazine can be easily sorted and recycled after use. In combination with the durable CyBio Well vario platform and efficient reagent use, it makes an important contribution to more environmentally friendly laboratory work.
