The world market leader for collaborative robotics Universal Robots (UR) is once again expanding its sales network. Two additional partners from Germany and Austria have received the company's certification as Certified System Integrators in recent weeks. These are ETU GmbH from Schopfheim in Baden-Württemberg and KAPLINA Engineering from Bludenz in the Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg.

“It is important not to leave small and medium-sized enterprises alone with the ongoing and increasingly severe labor shortage. That is why it is a major concern for us to provide our interested parties across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with equally competent integration and contact persons. For this reason, we are continuously expanding our network,” explains Andrea Alboni, General Manager Western Europe at Universal Robots. “Our experienced system integrators and sales partners actively support our customers with their individual automation projects and are always available as contacts, especially for small and medium-sized companies. They are the ones who serve our customers daily with a lot of expertise and passion.”

Progress and Innovation in Automation

Competent advice, quick problem-solving, and first-class service are also top priorities for KAPLINA Engineering: In 2010, mechanical engineer Stefan Bitschnau founded the company as a one-man engineering office in Bludenz, Austria, focusing on mechanical engineering and production technology. Over the past 12 years, KAPLINA has evolved from a pure engineering office into a competent full-service provider of automation solutions, now offering its customers a broad product portfolio—from Cobot applications to test setups, 3D printing, special grippers, custom machinery, and machine safety. “As a modern mechanical engineering company, we also deal with cobots alongside traditional machinery, which is highly appreciated by our customers,” says Stefan Bitschnau, CEO and founder of KAPLINA Engineering. “In the shortest possible time, we realize test setups and make cobots tangible. Having integrated several UR robots into our systems over the past years, which convinced us completely with their quality and ease of programming, I am very pleased to now officially seal our partnership with Universal Robots,” Bitschnau continues.

Flexible Integration and Maximum Reliability

The second new Certified System Integrator, ETU GmbH based in Schopfheim, is an engineering office for electrical automation, mechatronics, and a competent supplier for EMSR technology with over 30 years of experience. The company handles projects from conception and planning through software development and production to control cabinet construction and assembly. Another focus of ETU GmbH, which employs around 60 staff, is on complete solutions in special machinery construction, robotics, and test equipment manufacturing. The company offers industry-specific solutions in process and manufacturing automation for the automotive, electronics, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as for medical and environmental technology, all from a single source. “We are an independent, system- and manufacturer-neutral provider, always focusing on the most sustainable and cost-effective solution for our customers,” explains Jürgen Bläsi, Managing Director of ETU GmbH. “In Universal Robots, we have found a reliable and competent partner in robotics, with whom we can integrate robotics flexibly, individually, and economically from the idea to the production operation into our custom machinery solutions. We are therefore very pleased about the official partnership and look forward to further interesting projects,” Bläsi adds.

Partner Network Supports Cobot Integration in Staff Shortages

Universal Robots aims to support companies, especially those unable to produce efficiently due to a lack of workforce, through the expansion of its partner network. “Many companies are currently suffering from the labor shortage, which is unlikely to ease in the foreseeable future. To ensure reliable production and profitable operation, automation has become indispensable for many businesses,” says Alboni. “One of our goals is to dispel common concerns and prejudices against robots and to educate about the many advantages of cobots. We are pleased with our new integrators, who complement our network with their expertise and warmly welcome them.”
