New locking pins (K2194) made of stainless steel A1 and A4 from KIPP
Functionality on point
Ob chemical plants, outdoor use, or construction industry – products made of stainless steel are not only a good choice in many areas, but often the only one. KIPP has been developing stainless steel components for these demanding applications for years. With the new locking pin K2194, the company is currently expanding its portfolio. Available in two material qualities, the customer always receives the technically optimal solution for their application – no more and no less.
When it comes to safety, durability, and hygiene, every detail counts. That's why KIPP offers its new stainless steel mushroom handle locking pins in two material qualities: A1 for simple applications and A4 for environments where the component is under particular stress, such as in the chemical industry, shipbuilding, or outdoor areas.
Stainless steel also plays a central role in the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in sensitive areas of machinery and plant engineering. However, it pays to consider alternatives before deploying an expensive premium product. "Especially in machinery and plant engineering, not always elaborate hygienic design components are necessary," explains Samuel Rasch, Product Management Team Leader at KIPP. "For many applications, simpler stainless steel parts suffice – provided that the material quality and functionality are correct. To ensure this, we recommend a detailed examination of whether the parts are used in a critical working area. If this can be ruled out, our new locking pins offer a robust solution tailored to the actual requirements."
The locking pin is available in a short version with stainless steel mushroom handle in thread sizes M6 to M20 (fine thread) – optionally with a non-hardened, hardened, or chemically nickel-plated locking pin. Visually, two variants are available: bright fine-turned or matte blasted. This ensures that the pin not only integrates well technically but also visually into existing systems – an advantage in machines with visible components or in areas where cleanliness should also be visually apparent.
In the A4 variant, the locking pin is also non-magnetic or only slightly magnetic, which is advantageous for applications in sensitive areas. An additional benefit: stainless steel is fully recyclable. This makes it a more environmentally friendly option compared to many other materials.
In addition to the K2194 locking pin, KIPP's stainless steel portfolio includes other standard and control parts such as mushroom knobs, wing handles, lever handles, hinges, spoke handwheels, or spring-loaded pressure pieces – many of which are made of high-quality stainless steel A4, designed for the particular challenges of modern industrial applications.
