New Location: Schmalz now also in Australia

The vacuum specialist Schmalz is advancing its internationalization: The new branch in Melbourne (Australia) is Schmalz's 19th location worldwide.

This marks another step in the company's global expansion strategy. "We want to grow on the fifth continent. In addition to the traditionally strong industries such as mechanical engineering, logistics, and the timber industry, we see significant potential in the advancing automation and digitalization of the Australian economy," describes the managing partner Dr. Kurt Schmalz.

Therefore, Schmalz has acquired Millsom Hoists Pty. Ltd., a long-standing trading partner. Schmalz has maintained an intensive and trusting collaboration with the founders, Janis and Barry Millsom, for years. Both are now retiring. The company is based in Bayswater, a suburb of Melbourne. Millsom Hoists has been distributing vacuum technology from Schmalz in the Australian market for around 30 years and has established a reputation as a specialist in handling technology. The company employs 20 staff members.
