New hose coupling for the plastics industry

At K 2025, Michel Tube Engineering GmbH presents an innovation in the field of connection technology - the Switch&Lock 360 hose coupling.

The highlight of the Switch&Lock 360 coupling, according to the provider, lies in its particularly simple handling: the male and female parts are assembled almost effortlessly - completely without precise alignment. The locking process is audible and visually verifiable through a color-coded locking bolt. This is ideal for hard-to-reach or poorly visible areas. A simple pull on the bolt should be sufficient to release the connection.

The design with two guide tubes and radial insertion aids is intended to ensure easy and precise coupling, even under torsion in the hose. The coupling locks securely in place - unintentional release, even during vibrations, is practically impossible. It can be coupled in any arbitrary 360° position. Releasing the hose connection should be safe, ergonomic, and joint-friendly via a specially shaped spring bolt - optionally one-handed or two-handed. Even in the coupled state, the coupling can still rotate or be aligned.

Three Material Versions

The Switch&Lock 360 hose coupling is available in three material versions - plastic, aluminum, or fully made of stainless steel - covering different application areas and price ranges, which can also be combined with each other. The pipe adapter that contacts the product is always made of stainless steel in all variants, reliably meeting the requirements in cleanroom and "medical" environments. The hose couplings differ in the materials used for the housings - all contact parts are made of stainless steel 1.4301.

Intelligent Coding - Mechanical, Color-Coded, and Electronic

For a secure differentiation of various piping systems, so-called coding rings can be retrofitted - mechanically and color distinguishable. With up to 24 possible coding patterns, even complex systems can be clearly and fail-safely delineated. Alternatively or additionally, the coupling is RFID-compatible and can be integrated into digitally networked systems.

Individually Customizable - Robust and Scalable

The Switch&Lock 360 coupling can be individually marked by engraving, for example with machine numbers or internal codes. At the same time, the system is easily scalable due to its modular design - across all diameters.
