New gear unit series from Groschopp

Groschopp introduces new gearboxes with the ZK series to the market, which offer high reductions and good efficiency through the combination of worm and spur gear stages. The ZKS30 gearboxes are made of stainless steel and, in combination with the manufacturer's induction or servo motors, represent a particularly efficient and economical solution. Furthermore, they are robust, highly durable, and easy to clean, thus meeting the special requirements in hygienically critical areas – such as the food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries.

The ZKS30 is available as the first model of the new series for an output torque of 30 Nm; additional versions with 50 Nm are in planning. The new combined gearbox is based on the VE31 with an axis distance of 31 mm. Like the predecessor models Z14 and Z20, the ZK series is used wherever an right-angle output or a compact design is required. The new gearboxes are also characterized by easy installation.

High efficiency and quiet operation

Thanks to the combination of worm and spur gear stages, the new ZKS30 gearbox offers gear ratios from 34.5:1 to 690:1 and a better efficiency than two-stage worm gearboxes. The gear ratio in the spur gear stage is 69:10. The worm stage corresponds to that of the VE31 with 5:1 to 100:1. The worm stage and the helical gear in the spur gear stage also ensure quiet operation. Additional benefits include ball bearings as well as the 14 mm solid shaft or 15 mm hollow shaft in the output. Application-specific output variants are also possible.

Robust and easy to clean

The combined double gearboxes are made of stainless steel, feature smooth surfaces, and are easy to clean. This means they meet especially high hygienic standards but are also suitable for use in harsh environments, such as offshore applications. Additionally, an aluminum version will soon be available.
