The new Elis Cleanroom location in Mannheim

As one of the leading market players, the international textile and hygiene service provider Elis today announces the commissioning of the new Elis Cleanroom location in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg. After Bad Windsheim and Beelitz, Mannheim is the third cleanroom operation in Germany. The new site was created by converting an existing flat laundry operation, which Elis transformed into a modern cleanroom facility.

The facility in Mannheim features two ISO 5 cleanrooms. All processes are fully compliant with EU Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Annex 1. At this location, reusable cleanroom textiles can be hygienically and germ-free processed. This includes under- and outerwear for cleanrooms, socks, wiping cloths, cleaning towels, and full protective glasses. Sterilization is possible at 121 or 134 degrees Celsius using an autoclave.

The production started in early December 2025 with an initial 30 employees. The site will be gradually ramped up over the coming months and years. At full capacity and maximum expansion stage, the operation can process more than 175,000 parts per week and will employ over 100 staff. With Mannheim, Elis now operates three cleanroom laundry facilities in Germany. Worldwide, Elis's cleanroom network includes 34 locations in 18 countries.
