New EC radial fans for more power and efficiency
Better and quieter thanks to new wheelset geometry and high-performance electronics
Fans for air conditioning and ventilation technology are continuously being developed further, as the demands of users, especially regarding control options and energy efficiency, are increasing rapidly. Legal requirements, growing environmental awareness, and potential savings in operating costs contribute to this.
With the new RadiPac series, ebm-papst has succeeded in significantly improving the existing radial fans. The RadiPac of the latest generation operates with considerably higher efficiencies. Higher rotational speeds ensure greater volume flow and higher pressures, allowing even high-pressure applications to be covered.
New impeller: more efficient and quieter
Thanks to the impeller developed according to the latest aerodynamic insights, airflow losses are drastically reduced, and noise development is further lowered. Depending on the operating point, this is between 3 and 7 dB(A) below the values compared to the previous series. A high-strength, glass fiber-reinforced composite material was used as the material, enabling complex shaping and ensuring the stability of the impeller.
GreenTech EC motors: more powerful, flexible, and even more compact
The EC motors integrated into the fans, with power ranges from 500 W to 8 kW, achieve efficiencies in accordance with the requirements set by IEC/TS 60034-30-2 for efficiency class IE5. The new 8 kW drive sets high standards in terms of its powerful electronics and more compact dimensions. It has been expanded with a configurable interface—including a MODBUS-RTU interface and an integrated resonance sensor. This resonance sensor measures vibrations and oscillations and reports disturbances before the fan sustains damage—entirely in line with GreenIntelligence.
Flexible options and suitable for retrofit
To accommodate different installation situations, the new RadiPac is available in a standard and a short version. Both variants are available as motor-impeller combinations or as ready-to-install plug & play solutions in a stable support spider construction for easy wall mounting. As an option, there is a fully enclosed flow grid, FlowGrid, which reduces noise-causing turbulence in the intake and also functions as a protective grille. Retrofitting is usually possible without structural modifications, as the new fans, despite higher performance, are smaller in the same design size geometrically. From October 2021, sizes 310 to 630 with air capacities of up to 20,000 m³/h and static pressure increases of well over 2,000 Pa will be available. Sampling can be requested immediately.
