Because the MK 300 is not a pre-made product that the customer simply pulls off the shelf. Basically, two precision classes are available, with operational accuracies of 3 or 10 micrometers. Additional options include choices for the measurement system. The user can opt between optical systems in various accuracy classes, offering incremental or absolute signals. Even operation without a measurement system is possible—namely, when only the operational accuracy is critical, and the positioning accuracy can be disregarded. WEISS also meets different dynamic requirements: For the operation of the cross table, supply voltages between 24V and 80V are provided.

With external dimensions of only 306x306x96mm, the table is extremely compact and features a transmitted light opening in the center of 180x180 mm.

The cross table, with a maximum stroke of 160 mm in both axes, is a typical WEISS product: The base of the table consists of three high-strength and precise aluminum parts. As is customary with WEISS, highly dynamic linear motors drive the system. These are designed to avoid forces on the guide system. To prevent unintentional blocking of the axes, the cross roller cages of the precision rails are equipped with a gear that prevents the cages from wandering.
