NEW: Compact focus axis for vacuum applications

The focus linear axis LA85-SM-HV has been specially developed by Steinmeyer Mechatronik for demanding low-emission applications in cleanrooms, vacuum, and ultra-high vacuum environments. It is highly precise, extremely compact, and suitable for HV/UHV – making it ideal for medical technology, pharmaceutical industry, and food industry.

Compact focus axis with outstanding cycle values

The robust, very stable, and ground to the highest flatness base body enables excellent cycle values and enormous stiffness for maximum resolutions. With a repeat accuracy of ± 1.6 µm, the robust standard axis positions highly precisely over a travel range of 25 to 50 mm. For higher accuracy requirements, an optional linear measurement scale is available for repeat accuracies up to ± 0.3 µm, as well as position feedback and monitoring (also available as absolute if desired). The positioning unit is designed for loads up to 4 kg and reaches a speed of 30 mm/s. Thanks to the fixed bearings embedded in the carriage, it is built very compactly and thus an ideal solution even in tight spaces.

Vacuum standard axis for all HV/UHV ranges up to 10^-8 mbar

The focus axis LA85-SM-HV uses a stepper motor combined with a ground ball screw made of stainless steel as the drive. The stepper motor is a special version with minimal outgassing values, which can withstand higher temperatures (maximum bake-out temperature: 100°C). Compact, contactless switching, gas-tested to 10^-8 mbar, and equipped with circuit board switches for end positions further reduce the risk of contamination.

Individually configurable

An individual custom configuration for increased hygiene or cleanroom conditions is optionally available. For example, the ball screw can also be supplied with ceramic balls, aluminum parts can be nickel-plated for very smooth surfaces, and special lubrication for cleanroom, vacuum, pharmaceutical, or food industry applications is available. The focus axis is suitable for horizontal applications and, thanks to its optimal self-locking, also for vertical applications.
