More international visitors at Cleanzone: The share of international attendees reaches 36 percent
Cleanzone 2016 covers over 30 percent more space
Exhibitors are highly satisfied with the quality of trade visitors
Cleanzone closed on November 9, 2016, with 759 visitors from 35 countries (2015: 734 trade visitors from 32 countries). The number of international trade visitors increased compared to the previous event. As a result, Cleanzone achieved an internationality share of 36 percent among visitors. For the first time, interested parties from Mexico, Argentina, Malaysia, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates traveled to the trade fair in Frankfurt. The trade visitors gathered information at the booths of 86 exhibitors from 12 countries (2015: 78 companies and 10 research institutes from 12 countries). Many companies expanded their presentation space, occupying over 30 percent more area compared to the previous event. Iris Jeglitza-Moshage, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt, commented: "With the increase in the internationality of trade visitors, the significance of Cleanzone as the exchange forum for users, manufacturers, and developers of cleanroom technology has grown again. The fact that many companies have enlarged their booths confirms the solid development of the trade fair."
This assessment is supported by Frank Duvernell, Managing Director of ReinraumAkademie Leipzig and partner of Cleanzone: "Cleanzone 2016 once again demonstrated that the international cleanroom community meets in Frankfurt am Main. Production and manufacturing in cleanrooms is a future-oriented and cross-sector topic that spans all high-tech industries worldwide. Therefore, I am firmly convinced that Cleanzone will continue to grow."
A total of 103 participants attended the Cleanzone Congress to learn about current topics in cleanroom technology, such as new standards and guidelines, handling crises during completion, and liability in the digital age. Industry 4.0, Nachwuchsförderung (young talent promotion), and the question of how to recognize a good supplier were discussed at the Cleanzone Plaza. The Cleanroom Award was also presented there for the fifth time by ReinraumAkademie Leipzig. The €3,000 prize was awarded to the Adriatic Institute of Technology for the mobile cleanroom unit "Shellbe." The module, made from an innovative plastic construction, is suitable for use as a hospital, laboratory, or epidemic station in crisis zones and resource-poor regions of the world. "Shellbe" is characterized by an extremely high hygiene standard for a mobile unit and can be set up thanks to autonomous supply even in desert regions or in eternal ice.
The exhibitors were very satisfied with the quality and internationality of the trade visitors. The most important visitor countries besides Germany included China, Austria, Belgium, Turkey, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and Spain. The trade visitors at Cleanzone came from all industries that produce in cleanrooms or controlled environments, such as automotive and semiconductor industries, aerospace and aviation, laser and optics, surface technology, food, and pharmaceutical industries. Among the trends at Cleanzone 2016 were digitalization and the use of new innovative plastics for construction and design in the cleanroom. Additionally, three important industry associations presented at the trade fair: the Association of Pharmaceutical Construction Interest Group 3000 (VIP 3000), Cleanroom.de, a consortium of companies offering solutions for microtechnology, and the Cleaning Excellence Center Leonberg, focusing on technical cleanliness. This broadens the scope of the trade fair across all areas of production under controlled conditions.
The next Cleanzone will take place on October 17 and 18, 2017, in Frankfurt am Main.
