More cleanroom capacities at Novoplast Schlauchtechnik

The Masterflex Group is starting to expand its cleanroom capacities at the Halberstadt location: Starting next year, extruded hoses and components for medical technology applications will be manufactured here on an area of a total of 1,300 m2.

The Masterflex Group is investing just over 2 million euros in the project, deliberately focusing on expanding German sites while increasingly targeting international customers. In the following years, investments will also be made in machinery and equipment.

Novoplast Schlauchtechnik, as part of the Masterflex Group, specializes in extruded hoses for medical technology applications. An expansion of the cleanroom capacity became necessary due to steadily increasing order volumes.

"We see the Masterflex Group's investment in the Halberstadt site as a clear indication of our performance and competitiveness," says Managing Director Jens Schopferer. "In the future, in addition to hoses and components for medical applications, we want to offer more secondary processes such as tip forming, as well as deforming or printing on components. This also requires more production space."

The medical technology division of the Masterflex Group has seen a very positive demand trend in recent years.

Novoplast Schlauchtechnik has been producing in cleanrooms of ISO classes 7 and 8 according to DIN EN ISO 14644 since 2000. The newly planned cleanrooms in operation will meet ISO class 8 and can also be configured to ISO class 7 if needed.

The first construction phase is expected to be completed as early as September 2021.
