In the new metal competence center in Bremen, prototypes and small series are produced on a production area of 1,700 square meters. Nine EFAFLEX rapid-rolling doors separate the different areas to ensure batch-pure production.

"For us, this dense separation of the individual production zones is very important," describes the Technical Director Sascha Schmidt, highlighting a key unique selling point of Materialise GmbH: "We always use the same metal on one machine. Mixtures, no matter how slight, must not occur in the products for our customers." He explains that Materialise works for major aerospace manufacturers, the automotive industry, and end customers. Pure materials are a prerequisite for this.

The nine EFAFLEX EFA-SRT® ECO rapid-rolling doors are thus an important component of the building equipment. "With our suppliers, we treat it like our products. Quality always comes first," explains Sascha Schmidt. "We also pay attention to after-sales service. EFAFLEX's service is excellent."

"Everything is as usual: great."

He reports that during his professional career in various companies, he has seen many different types of doors. Of course, budgets need to be adhered to. "But those who buy cheap, buy twice."

According to his conviction, the EFA-SRT® ECO rapid-rolling doors impress with an excellent price-performance ratio. No special structural preparations are necessary thanks to the space-saving design, such as the very narrow side frames. This makes the EFA-SRT® ECO as versatile as no other roller door.

A sophisticated guide on the sides of the door leaf prevents unwanted air exchange during pressure differences and draft. The standard door leaf of the EFAFLEX roller door is fully transparent and comes standard with warning stripes. Colored housings are also readily available for EFAFLEX roller doors. The door frames were supplied in stainless steel for Materialise and fit into the highly modern metal competence center. All doors are wide enough to comfortably transport large systems into the individual rooms.

For the outdoor door EFA-SST® Essential, which is used for the delivery of materials and machines, speed is important, but other properties are also crucial, says the Technical Director. "It is important to us that the doors are airtight to guarantee the air pressure in the room. We also have climate-controlled rooms with temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius." The climate control is combined with ventilation and extraction of protective gases such as argon and nitrogen. "A complex topic," emphasizes Sascha Schmidt. "The EFAFLEX service technician responsible and knowledgeable about our needs knows what he's talking about and pointed out important issues to me. He really addressed our very specific requirements. And there was no issue during installation that was not considered. Everything was perfect for me, just as usual."
