Management change at the Kunststoff-Zentrum in Leipzig gGmbH

Effective January 1, 2021, Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wolff is the new Managing Director of the Kunststoff-Zentrum in Leipzig gGmbH (KUZ). Dr. Wolff brings many years of leadership experience in the automotive industry. In his previous position, he led the Lightweight Construction and Technology Center of the BMW Group in Landshut. Before his engagement at KUZ, he was also active at the Leipzig location of BMW AG, among others. He accompanied the development and manufacturing of i-vehicles, which significantly influenced the areas of electromobility and lightweight construction in the automotive sector. He began his career at the Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University.

As of June 30, 2020, Dr. Peter Blöss resigned from his long-standing position as Managing Director of KUZ at his own request to focus on technical tasks in the future and to concentrate on the position of Head of Plastics Testing. The subsequent interim managing director of KUZ was Helmut Gries, who is very committed to KUZ through his many years of voluntary work on the board of the shareholder, the Fördergemeinschaft für das Kunststoff-Zentrum e.V.
