Maintaining pressure – against contamination
The company halstrup-walcher from Kirchzarten presents a complete product range for pressure monitoring and control in cleanrooms at the ISH. What is the application about? Cleanrooms must maintain a continuous positive pressure compared to adjacent areas where contaminated air could flow in. This is required not only by the relevant standard ISO 14644-4; every professional knows that the air conditions can quickly deteriorate if the positive pressure drops even temporarily by just a few Pascals. In the semiconductor sector, particles and other contaminants threaten to compromise the high-purity end products. And in the pharmaceutical sector, harmful substances could enter highly critical medications. It is obvious that this must be avoided at all costs.
halstrup-walcher offers highly precise pressure sensors developed and manufactured in-house. A special expertise lies in the smallest measurement ranges needed in cleanrooms. These sensors are integrated into three products that cover all applications: as a measuring transducer P26 for control cabinet or surface mounting (from where pressure hoses lead to the cleanrooms), as a panel version PUC 28 for direct installation into a cleanroom wall (which can additionally display temperature and %rF readings), and as a highly precise calibration device KAL 200. With this portable, battery-operated calibration device, all pressure measurement points can be regularly calibrated on-site and adjusted if necessary. An internal pressure generator creates the target pressure on-site and measures it precisely for the calibration process. Ensuring that there is never a risk of contamination in the future.
