How can users easily and centrally manage individual permissions for machines and systems? Experts from Pilz answer this and other questions about secure access permission management at the regional trade fairs for industrial automation "all about automation" in Hamburg (January 25-26, 2023), Friedrichshafen (March 7-8, 2023), and Heilbronn (May 10-11, 2023).

The focus of the Pilz trade fair presence: The digital access authorization system PITreader with RFID technology, which consists of a reading unit with the associated transponder keys. Users receive machine authorization tailored to their individual tasks on their RFID transponder. To gain access to a machine or system, they authenticate themselves at the safety door with it. If multiple PITreaders are used in a company, they are organized with the software tool User Authentication Service (UAS). This has a central authorization database and enables the connection between a user management software in the company and PITreader. Pilz experts will demonstrate on the trade fair model how administrators can keep track even when multiple PITreaders are in use, saving time.

Meeting Point Talk Lounge: “What is a significant change?”

In Hamburg and Friedrichshafen, Pilz speakers will explain in their presentations in the Talk Lounge how to assess whether a change during a retrofit is significant. Interested visitors will learn when the operator becomes the manufacturer. Because a review of the measures is required for the modification of a machine. If it turns out that a significant change has occurred, the machine must be classified as a new machine according to the Product Safety Act (ProdSG). This means that the requirements for placing the machine on the market (conformity assessment procedure) must be met.

In Heilbronn, however, Pilz experts will answer the question about the most important changes resulting from the new machinery regulation for machine manufacturers and operators. The lecture series is free of charge for visitors.
