LOUNGES 2020 - Great atmosphere as well as satisfied exhibitors and visitors

Over 200 exhibitors and more than 7,000 visitors met at the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Center at the end of January 2020.

The lounges presented themselves with new themes, innovative trends, an extremely interesting program, and a new experiential world.

Some of the special highlights included the following thematic areas:

- Industry 4.0 – Pharma 4.0 – Cleanroom 4.0
- Digitization and automation in processes
- Artificial intelligence in regulated environments
- New guidelines and standards
- Sustainability

Virtual worlds and classic lectures were presented, complemented by activities, project presentations, and a training zone.

The numerous visitors got their money's worth and could inform themselves purposefully through the variety of offerings.

More and more, there is engagement with special areas and a look beyond the horizon, as it is no longer just about the pure product itself.

Topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) are increasingly in discussion because they promise solutions and are relentlessly penetrating many areas of our lives. Even regulated industries cannot escape this trend.

The use of digital building models is increasingly penetrating the construction industry, building management, or urban planning. But what are the possibilities for using BIM models in Cleanroom 4.0? This question was also hotly discussed.

Environmental protection or energy optimization seek the best technical and economic solutions, combined with the desire for minimal operating costs and the lowest energy consumption.

2021 will see significant developments, including in the lounges

The two areas, Cleanroom and Processes, will be further expanded.

- Cleanroom: This is already the largest and most important event, now also internationally
- Processes/Pharmaceutical Technology: This area will be greatly expanded, aiming to also be the leading pharmaceutical/process "trade fair" in 2021
- New topics such as AI, digitization, and sustainability form additional pillars
