Linear units configured online

Linear units have numerous parameters, whose variety has so far not been represented by Ganter's standard element strategy. Now, the standard element market leader presents a completely new concept that combines the advantages of standard elements with extensive customization options. This customer-centric strategy is made possible by the new online configurator, through which the key parameters of a linear unit can be specified and output in real time.

The online configurator offers several advantages over the previous standard offering. In addition to customization, the ordering process can be more efficient, as the system immediately checks the selection for plausibility and provides real-time information on weight, price, and delivery time. The latter is slightly longer than when ordering standard linear units, but the increased configurability more than compensates for this. And thanks to the simultaneous transfer of options into 3D data files, it can be immediately checked whether the chosen configuration fits into the user's design. This is especially valuable for time-critical tasks.

Important: the configurator is logically structured and guides the user through the individual steps. The first step involves choosing the actual linear unit – six variants are available, with round or square cross-sections, with one or two spindles, with different lengths, strokes, diameters, and spindle types.

In the second step, the user specifies, for example, the shaft pins according to the axis layout. The next level is dedicated to accessories such as handwheels, clamping plates, position indicators, or torque supports. Finally, the linear slides themselves are available for selection.

The system automatically checks in the background whether the specifications are compatible and plausible. Incorrect orders are thus almost impossible.

And to ensure the configuration is traceable, all values can be retrieved from the system or derived from the meaningful order numbers. This makes further, identical deliveries simple and secure.
